So much to learn!

I purchased an Adult Weekend Pass for the festival last month and it was incredible! I learned so much at the Permaculture Presentations and the Earth Building Workshops. The whole vibe was just fantastic. I'm already planning to come back next year, maybe even volunteer. Definitely recommend this to everyone interested in sustainable living!

Weekend Pass value

I looked at the ticket options for a bit before deciding on the Concession Weekend Pass. It felt like the best deal compared to buying two single day tickets, especially with the discount applied. The early bird pricing I snagged made it even better. I got to attend a few Bushcraft Skills Sessions and picked up an Official Festival T-Shirt without feeling like I overspent. The camping site booking was separate, but combined, it was still a decent price for the experience. Glad I went for the weekend option, definitely got my money's worth.

Good festival experience

I bought a Family Day Pass for Saturday and we all had a pretty good time. The kids liked seeing some of the solar power demonstrations. It was a bit busy getting in, but once we were inside it was easy enough to move around. Plenty of food stalls too, which was handy. Overall, a solid day out.

do they do any student discounts for tickets? i'm a uni student.

M Mary Rivera 3 weeks ago
Yeah, I think they have a concession rate which usually includes students. Just make sure to bring your student ID.

Pretty sure concession tickets cover students. Check their ticket page, it should specify what IDs they accept.

how long does it usually take to get tickets if I order them online? I'm in LA and don't want them to get lost in the mail or anything.

J Jason Turner 5 days ago
It's an Aussie festival, so you're buying e-tickets. You just get them emailed instantly, no physical shipping to worry about.

You get a digital ticket, no delivery wait. Just print it or show it on your phone.

can you buy tickets at the gate or is it all online in advance?

R Ryan White 5 days ago
You CAN buy at the gate, but it's usually more expensive. Better to get them online beforehand to save a bit.

They definitely sell at the gate, but I've heard they can sell out, especially for certain days. Plus, early bird is online only.

thinking about bringing the whole family, kids and all. is it actually good for little ones or will they be super bored?

A Andrew Davis 5 days ago
Yeah, totally. We went last year with our 5-year-old and there were plenty of workshops and demos that kept him interested, like the bushcraft stuff. Plus lots of space to run around.

There's usually a bunch of hands-on things. I saw a few families with really young kids having a blast. They cover a ton of different topics so there's usually something for everyone.

what if it rains? is everything just cancelled or do they have covered areas?

J Jason N. 3 weeks ago
It's an outdoor festival, so rain or shine, it usually goes ahead. They have some covered areas for workshops but you'd want to bring a rain jacket.

Definitely bring your wet weather gear. The show goes on. A lot of the main stuff is under big tents or marquees anyway.

is the festival really accessible for someone in a wheelchair? my mom wants to come but we're worried about getting around.

Z Zach Parker 4 weeks ago
I saw a few people in wheelchairs last time, and it seemed okay. Most of it is pretty open and flat. Might be a bit bumpy in some of the grassier areas but generally good.

They mention on their site that the event is wheelchair accessible, so you should be good.

are there any active promo codes floating around? trying to save a few bucks if possible.

E Emma R. 1 month ago
Best bet is to sign up for their newsletter. That's usually where they drop any discount codes or special offers.

Sometimes partner organizations have codes too. Or check if you qualify for a concession or group discount, those are pretty standard.

how does this compare to something like the Sustainable Living Festival? just wondering which one to go to.

E Emily L. 5 days ago
Off-Grid is way more hands-on and practical, focused on actual skills and self-sufficiency. Sustainable Living Festival is great but a bit more, idk, 'expo' vibe.

A Alex D. 4 days ago
Yeah, if you want to learn how to DO stuff, Off-Grid is probably better. More workshops and demonstrations. Sustainable Living is cool for ideas though.
